Sanitation & Recycling
The Sanitation Division coordinates various programs and services to manage the City of Sedalia's waste stream. The Sanitation Division handles the residential collection and appropriate disposal of refuse (garbage), recyclables, and yard waste. The Sanitation Division abides by regulations that monitor curbside refuse, recycling collection, and bulky-item pickup. These regulations ensure quality service and protect the environment.
Trash Collection Days Map
Residential trash collection is once per week. Trash collections routinely occur Tuesday through Friday, the exceptions are weeks with holidays.
- If you are unsure which day your trash collection occurs, view the Trash Collection Days Map.
- For holiday trash collection information, view Holiday Schedules.
- All trash placed on the curb for collection must be in City provided carts.
Materials must be at the curb by 5 a.m. Residents may put carts out as early as 4 p.m. on the day before your scheduled collection.
Customers new to the city will receive their trash cart(s) after signing up for water, wastewater, and trash service through the city's Finance Division.
