Mayor Andrew Dawson of Sedalia Recognizes Staff During Local Government Week
In celebration of Local Government Week (May 5-11, 2025), the City of Sedalia extends heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated employees who serve our community with professionalism, care, and an unwavering commitment to public service.
From first responders and utility crews to planners, clerks, inspectors, and administrators, every employee plays a critical role in keeping Sedalia running smoothly. Local government is where services meet citizens and in Sedalia, we are proud to have a team that rises to that responsibility every day.
“Behind every clean street, safe neighborhood, thriving park, and responsive city service is a person who made it happen,” said Mayor Andrew Dawson. “We have an exceptional team here in Sedalia, and this week is about recognizing their hard work and thanking them for the pride they take in serving our residents.”
Local Government Week is a time to highlight the essential role cities, counties, and local public servants play across Missouri. Here in Sedalia, it’s also a reminder of the more than 200 individuals working across departments like Public Works, Police, Fire, Finance, Community Development, Parks & Recreation, Airport, Animal Shelter, Cemetery, Water & Sewer, Human Resources, City Clerk, and more — each one contributing to the health, safety, and success of our city.
If you see a city employee this week, take a moment to say thank you — it means more than you know.
To all City of Sedalia employees: your dedication and service are what make our city stronger. We appreciate you this week and every week.
