You are invited to a public forum to provide input, thoughts, and concerns regarding the creation of design guidelines for properties in Sedalia’s residential Historic District. Please join us on May 14 at 6:00 p.m. at 200 S. Osage Ave. Sedalia, MO 65301 to launch the City of Sedalia, Historic Preservation Design Guidelines Project. We will offer a presentation, Q&A, and workshop-style conversation to explain the over-arching goals, objectives, and recommendations of these guidelines which will help ensure that Sedalia’s heritage can be secured for the future.

Your contributions are an essential part of this public process. We hope to learn how you will most benefit from guidelines and how we can work together to deliver resources that benefit your home and community. You will gain information about the critical role of the public in the design planning and meet our project team. You will learn how to assist in the creation of guidelines that protect our historic resources and participate in the development, review, and formalization of the guidelines for presentation to the Sedalia Historic Preservation Commission, City Council, and Missouri State Historic Preservation Office. Your input, including guidance, suggestions and concerns will help protect and preserve the character of Sedalia for generations. There will be additional public forums as the project progresses, so plan to be a part of the process–join us as we guide the preservation of our heritage!

Help promote this opportunity by inviting your peers, neighbors, employees, and coworkers to the public forum. This is an exciting time for members of our community — imagine being able to influence the future direction of your own city!
