On August 21, 2023 the City Council of Sedalia, Missouri, passed a vital resolution to waive building permit fees for three substantial construction projects undertaken by State Fair Community College (SFCC). This resolution emphasizes SFCC’s integral role in workforce development and highlights Sedalia’s dedication to community growth, education, and public safety.
The waived projects include:
- The construction of a new Center for Advanced Agriculture and Transportation Technology facility, with estimated construction costs of $20 million.
- The construction of a new 200-bed residence hall, with estimated construction costs ranging from $15 to $20 million.
- The construction of a new outdoor athletic complex, with estimated construction costs of $10 million.
Mayor Dawson, along with the City Council, has prioritized these developments as a symbol of Sedalia’s commitment to innovation, local industry, and creating opportunities for citizens.
