City of Sedalia Announces Changes to Social Media Operations

City administration recently became aware of comments that were made by an employee who had access to the City’s social media account. The comments were not authorized by the City and do not reflect the City’s position or expectations for how our organization communicates with the public. The individual who mistakenly made the comments using the City’s account is no longer employed by the City.

Responsibility for the City’s social media accounts has now been shifted to the City administration so that posts are reviewed and shared through a centralized communication process moving forward.

The City will continue using its social media platforms to share important information, notices, and updates with residents. Due to recent staffing and structural adjustments, the City may not actively respond to comments on posts as frequently as in the past while these changes are implemented. The City appreciates residents who bring concerns forward and remains committed to providing timely information and updates to the community. Our focus remains on serving residents and continuing the many positive efforts taking place across Sedalia.
