Celebrate the Holiday Season in Downtown Sedalia

Make plans to visit the very holiday heart of Sedalia for all your shopping and memory-making fun on December 3 and December 10, 2022!

Holiday Open House & Cookie Crawl

The Downtown Sedalia Holiday Open House and Cookie Crawl will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on December 3, 2022. Merchants will be help you explore all your gift gathering opportunities plus you will be able to pick up a free cookie while you’re in their stores. We’ve got more than a “baker’s dozen” of stores listed for you and will have maps available to show you everyone involved in the Cookie Crawl. The Sedalia Public Library will be providing holiday cider and Southern Maven Boutique will be serving hot chocolate!

But wait – there’s more! Check out all of the other activities happening downtown on December 3rd:

• First United Methodist Church will be holding their Live Nativity from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00. p.m. at 117 W. 4th Street. Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus will be there. Plus! There will be animals there to pet and feed.
• NoBro Art Events will be holding their $100 and Under Indoor Art Walk at the Lamy building from 11-3 p.m.
• The Heard House is holding their annual cookie sale (presales are encouraged plus there will be a chance to purchase them at the Heard House on December 3rd).
• Serene Space Massage, LLC is holding their Open House and Wellness Event from 4-7 p.m. on the second floor of 412 S. Ohio Avenue.
• The Sedalia Public Library is holding a Come and Create Christmas Cards event from 9:30 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. as well as providing the holiday cider during our open house.
• The Sedalia Area Chamber of Commerce’s Christmas parade is that evening, starting at 6:00 p.m.

Ride the Train with Santa

Travel on your own to Warrensburg’s train station at 100 South Holden Street to board Train #318 at 9:57 a.m. – Santa will be on the train!

Amtrak provides a special rate for one child which is 50% off when riding with an adult (Amtrak Discounts for Children). So, an adult and child for one way between Warrensburg and Sedalia would be $16.50 total. To purchase your tickets for December 10th, visit amtrak.com or call 800-872-7245. Make sure you find/ask for the “Age 12 and Under Discount”.

Not able to ride the train this year? Santa will visit with children inside Sedalia’s Amtrak station until 12 noon on December 10, 2022.
