2021 Christmas Light Contest
Xi Bet Upsilon, chapter of Beta Sigma Phi, with the assistance of the Mayor and the City Council is pleased to announce Sedalia’s 41st annual outdoor Christmas Light Contest.
Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place winners. Prize money will be $100 for first place, $50 for second place, and $25 for third place. The deadline for entering is 12:00 p.m. (noon), Monday, December 13th, with the judging to take place on Tuesday, December 14th, beginning after 6:30 p.m.
If you have not won a cash prize in the last three years, (2018, 2019, 2020), you may enter by submitting an application to the Mayor’s Office, 200 S. Osage Avenue, Sedalia, MO 65301 or emailing the completed application to webmaster@sedalia.com. The Christmas Light Contest applications are available online or at the Mayor’s Office. The judging will be done on a point basis as follows:
- Lighting – 10 points
- Eye Appeal – 10 points
- Originality – 10 points
- Overall Appeal – 10 points
Complete display is to remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday season for the enjoyment of the community. The contest is confined to the city limits. City employees are not eligible to participate in this contest.
