Sedalia Parks and Recreation is looking for enthusiastic and dependable individuals to serve as Seasonal Moore's Train House Admissions Attendants at Liberty Park Railroad. As an Admissions Attendant, you'll be the first point of contact for park guests, assisting with ticket sales and general inquiries. You'll help create a positive guest experience while supporting safe and efficient train operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct opening and closing procedures for admissions for Moore’s Train House.
- Clean, sweep and disinfect all counters, equipment, floors, etc. at the end of each shift.
- Greet and communicate with customers in a polite and respectful manner.
- Answer guest questions and provide information about park amenities, hours, and events.
- Communicate with Program Specialist of any products needed, broken equipment, suggestions, etc.
- Complete and turn in the end of shift report along with the admissions drop bag.
- Must wear provided staff uniform Moore’s Train House shirt and close toed shoes.
- Responsible for keeping the admissions counter area cleaned at all times.
- If needed, be willing to ride in the back of train.
Minimum/Preferred Qualifications, Training, or Experience to Start:
- Must be at least 16 years old.
- Must be able to pass a money handling test.
- Will be required to successfully complete all pre-employment screenings.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must have a working phone number at which the employee can be contacted directly.
- Ability to follow oral and written orders.
- Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with employees and the general public.
- Previous experience in customer service, retail, or concession work, preferred.
- Familiarity with point-of-sale or cash register systems.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English), preferred.
- Must have knowledge of accounting procedures in handling large sums of money.
- Possess excellent customer service skills.
- Be able to work weekend shifts of 11 a.m. — 3 p.m. on Saturdays & 1 p.m. — 4 p.m. on Sundays. Additional shifts may be scheduled for private rentals, birthday parties, and school groups. Flexibility and communication is key.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Skill in directing crowds.
- Skill in operating light and heavy equipment.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Arrive and be ready for work 15 minutes before the scheduled time.

- City and department policies and procedures.
- Supervisory instructions, train safety, and special event guidelines.
- Guidelines require judgment, selection, and interpretation in application.

Inclement weather contributes to the complexity of the work.

The work is typically performed while intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching or stooping. The employee lifts light and heavy objects, climbs in and out of equipment and uses tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity. The employee may be required to distinguish between shades of color. This position may require on a regular basis, lifting of 50 pounds or more.
Certain duties of this position are classified as “safety-sensitive.” Therefore, the person in this position will be subject to mandatory testing for drugs and/or alcohol on a random, reasonable suspicion, post-accident, return-to-duty, and follow-up basis in accordance with the City’s Alcohol & Controlled Substance Use, Abuse and Testing Policy.
Work Environment:
The work is typically performed outdoors. The employee may be exposed to noise, dust, dirt, machinery with moving parts, exposed to sun and heat for extended periods and cold or inclement weather. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, or gloves.
