The Human Resources Department assists the efforts of all City departments in recruiting, selecting, and hiring a staff of qualified personnel to serve the citizens of Sedalia. Once hired, the department works to train, develop and grow the staff members to further improve the services provided to the community. The Human Resources Department also manages the employee benefits programs.
The city's primary goal is to recruit and maintain a dedicated, professional staff that provides quality support and services to the public we serve. The city has recently transitioned to a merit-based salary increase system, encouraging and rewarding our exceptional team. Staff members are encouraged to seek job-related training and acquire relevant certifications. The city also works to provide opportunities for advancement that creates a high level of morale and reduces turnover in a competitive labor market.
