City of Sedalia to Temporarily Shut Off Water on South Grand Avenue for Major Water Main Replacement – DATE CHANGE
The City of Sedalia will temporarily shut off water service on two sections of South Grand Avenue on next week as part of a major infrastructure improvement project.
On Monday, May 5, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., water will be shut off for residents along South Grand Avenue from approximately W. 24th Street to W. 28th Street, including LaGrand Drive between W. 26th and W. 27th Streets.
RESCHEDULED from Tuesday, May 6, to Thursday, May 8, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., crews will return to South Grand Avenue to shut off water from W. 16th St. to W. 20th Street.
This work is necessary to replace aging water mains as part of the City’s ongoing efforts to improve water infrastructure. This project is part of a $4 million investment in Sedalia’s water system designed to reduce service interruptions, increase water pressure, and ensure long-term reliability for residents and businesses.
City employees have begun hand-delivering door hangers to notify residents who will be impacted by these temporary outages.
Once service is restored, a precautionary boil advisory will be in effect for up to 24 hours to ensure water safety. Updates will be posted on the City’s website and social media pages.
We appreciate the community’s patience as we complete these critical improvements.
