2023 Christmas Light Contest
The 2023 City of Sedalia Christmas Light Contest judging will be held on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 starting at 6:30 p.m. Applications will be accepted until 12:00 p.m. (noon) on Monday, December 11, 2023. If you have not won a cash prize in the last three years, (2020, 2021, 2022), you may enter by submitting an application to the Mayor’s Office, 200 S. Osage Avenue, Sedalia, MO 65301 or emailing the completed application to info@sedalia.com. The City of Sedalia retains the right to refuse applications not completely filled out with the necessary authorizations given below. The judging will be done on a point basis as follows:
- Lighting: 10 points
- Eye appeal: 10 points
- Originality: 10 points
- Overall appeal: 10 points
Property must be within the corporate limits of the City of Sedalia. Judging will be conducted from street view only. Residents are asked to please have their lights on for the judges by 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. The complete display is to remain in place throughout the Christmas holiday season (until at least December 25th) for the enjoyment of the community. City employees are not eligible to participate in this contest.
