11/3/2021 - Various Street Intersections Closed at Union Pacific Rail Crossings for Improvements Nov. 4 Through Nov. 8, 2021

Union Pacific (UP) Railroad has notified the City of Sedalia that beginning on Thurs., Nov. 4, 2021 and continuing through Mon., Nov. 8, 2021, UP will be making improvements to the rail crossings at street intersections from Moniteau Ave. to N. State Fair Blvd. Work is scheduled overnight between 1:30 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. each day as detailed in the list below. Travelers will need to plan alternate routes as the crossings will be closed to traffic during the planned construction period at each of the crossings.

Day     Time
     Location

Thurs., 11/4/2021
    1:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.
     Moniteau Ave.

 Fri., 11/5/2021
    1:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.       Missouri Ave.

 Sat., 11/6/2021

 Sun., 11/7/2021

 Mon., 11/8/2021
    1:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.      State Fair Blvd.

The crossing improvement work is generally described as removal of crossing boards, including ties, and replacement of those boards and ties with surfacing improvements also being made. There will be approximately a one-week period from crossing improvement until new asphalt is in place at each of the crossings. During that period, a temporary surfacing solution will allow for the roadway to be open to the public.

Completion of the work is dependent on track availability to the work crew and, as such, work may be delayed to allow trains to pass safely through the work zones resulting in a slight delay in the scheduled re-opening time of 8:30 a.m. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause as UP works to improve their rail crossings within Sedalia.
