Evergy has notified the City of Sedalia that on Thurs. morning June 17, 2021 beginning at midnight and continuing through 5:00 a.m. the alley between E. Broadway (U.S. Highway 50) and E. 9th St. will be closed from S. Ingram Ave. to S. Engineer Ave. to allow for electric utility line work. As a result of this work, the signal lights at E. Broadway Blvd (U.S. Highway 50) and S. Engineer Ave. are expected to be set to all way flashing red requiring all traffic to stop at the intersection. Travelers may want to plan additional time to reach their destinations or use an alternate route during this period to avoid any delays.
Residents and businesses routinely using the alley to park, to access back yard parking or garages off the alley will want to use street parking during the planned work period, midnight to 5:00 a.m., to ensure their ability to immediately move their vehicles while Evergy has the alleyway blocked for electric utility line replacement.
This work is weather and equipment dependent and as such may be affected by inclement weather or equipment breakdowns.
