Mayor Proclaims Crime Stoppers Month

(SEDALIA, MISSOURI) : Mayor Bob Wasson issued a proclamation designating January, 2009 as Crime Stoppers Month in Sedalia.

Text of Proclamation

WHEREAS, The Pettis County Crime Stoppers provides a method involving citizens to aid law enforcement in solving felony crimes throughout the community; and

WHEREAS, The Crime Stoppers program helps awaken public interest in unsolved cases and also calls upon citizens for help in providing needed information that could lead to the solution of particular crimes; and

WHEREAS, Pettis County Crime Stoppers has become an investigative tool of law enforcement in the Sedalia/Pettis County area in combating the ever present crime problem; and

WHEREAS, The Crime Stoppers program serves as a vehicle for private citizens to relay criminal information to police while remaining anonymous; and

WHEREAS, Crime Stoppers is an effective tool in which citizens of the community and members of the news media join together with law enforcement officials to solve crime;

NOW, THEREFORE I, Bob Wasson, by virtue of the authority vested in me as Mayor of the City of Sedalia in the State of Missouri, and on behalf of all our citizens, do hereby proclaim the month of January 2009 as "CRIME STOPPERS MONTH" in the City of Sedalia, Missouri, and urge all citizens of this community to join in its observance.
